They can live to be 20 if they are taken really good care of. Most Leos that are kept as pets usually only live to be around 10 years at most though.

The oldest leopard gecko in captivity is recorded at around 39 years old. That is a true record breaker.

Most leos will average out around the years of 15-20 for the "average care giver". However the numbers should increase for breeders and advanced owners which should equal around 20-30 years.

The geckos that reach 25 years are considered long live and some are even extremely healthy at that point. If youll take a look at this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=NFYYPq_xhDc youll see that the leo is 24 years old but seems amazingly alert and active. That is a sure sign that the caretaker has done his job very very well.

You can most likely extend the longevity of your gecko by:

    a) carefully monitoring its diet
    b) giving good supplements
    c) provide adequate space
    d) reduce as much stress as possible

    15-20 years,
ive had mine for 5 years, going on 6 soon, and he acts like hes 1 still, looks it too, course i dont over feed him like alot of leopard gecko owners do, so he looks fit, not fat, and is a very happy boy

It is possible for a leopard gecko to live more than 20 years if taken good care of. I believe the record is 27 years.
