You have RATS for pets??? That's a bit odd, but maybe it has something to do with the sun. The sun shines on some more than others, I really don't know. LOL A bit lame, sorry.

I've had all sorts of rats, and I've found that I love the blues the best, they're loving and give you the most affection.
When I had hooded, they fought and nipped a bit at me, so I went back to petsmart and got different ones and the same thing happened a couple of times. I believe the hooded have different temperments[not always friendly] than solid colour rats; but it might just be concidence that this both happened to us. P.S. Not to say that hoods arent loving, they're just a little more high strung than solids. Hope it helps;) |

The color of a rat has no effect on its personality. Its genetics can, however, and if it is from a family of hyper rats then it will be hyper, or if it is from a line of lazy rats it will be lazy. So far I have seen no evidence that personality genes are linked to any sort of color. Often rats from different breeders will have different personalities because of how the breeder socialized them. Rats who are handled from birth are almost always much tamer than rats who were not.

All rats are the same and the colors don't matter on their personality.

WEll our big boy who we lost recently was a hooded from someones pregnant petshop buy, and he was the biggest laziest tamest I ever had, my speedy one at moment is a little himalayan dumbo, and he just never ever stops, so no the colours play no part in temperment ect....I have a little roof rat in my colony( didn't know he was until recently) but HE IS FAST/ HECTIC ect but very very tame now he is agouti, third the size of a standard, but when he sleeps he goes out for the count and I can't wake him up, its like a coma, also eats much more than the others, I have eight at moment I do notice differences even between brothers.....

i dont think so. usually males are lazier, fatter, and smellier than female rats, but i dont think color makes a difference. Their breeds might have something to do with it, but if you think about it color doesnt make sense. If i had a brown golden retriever and a blonde golden retriever, their colors wouldnt make a difference. Their personalities might have something to do with it though. Sorry, but i think this time its just a coincidence.
